The Harmony Institute proudly participated in the International Conference on the Hizmet Movement, held from 5–6 February 2026 at O.P. Jindal Global University, India, in partnership with the Indialogue Foundation. Convened under the theme “The Role of Social Movements in Cultivating Trust and Collaboration in Diverse Societies,” the conference brought together distinguished scholars, researchers, and civil society leaders from across the globe to explore how social movements contribute to peacebuilding, education, leadership, and intercultural cooperation.

Representing Harmony Institute on the Global Stage

Harmony Institute was represented by Salim Abdallah Ahmed, who presented a thought-provoking paper titled “From Dialogue to Coexistence: Cultural Diversity through the Lens of Hizmet.” His presentation emphasized how meaningful dialogue fosters peaceful coexistence in culturally diverse societies and highlighted the importance of ethical engagement, mutual respect, and social cohesion. The session formed part of the panel “Science for Peace, Coexistence & Pluralism,” moderated by Jon Pahl, and generated vibrant discussion among participants.

Networking and Cultural Exchange

On the evening of 6 February, the Indialogue Foundation hosted a Gala Dinner for conference participants. The event provided a warm and welcoming space for informal conversations, professional networking, and intercultural exchange. Scholars and practitioners used the opportunity to deepen collaborations, reflect on insights gained, and celebrate the collective spirit of the gathering.

Cultural and Educational Tour: Learning Beyond the Conference Hall

Following the academic sessions, participants embarked on a guided cultural tour of Delhi and nearby historic sites on 7–8 February. Visits included the Lotus Temple, Taj Mahal, Red Fort, and Qutub Minar—each offering participants a deeper appreciation of India’s rich heritage and architectural legacy. Beyond sightseeing, the tour created space for continued dialogue and relationship-building in an informal setting, strengthening mutual understanding among attendees from diverse backgrounds.
